While shopping at a supermarket, I see a foreigner who is doing a long phone call.

The evening supermarket is crowded.

I think that this is the same not only in Japan, but also in every country.

Everybody is in a hurry because we have preparations for dinner.

For example, what happens if you give a long phone call before a beef showcase?
Consumers want to buy beef, they can’t see and buy it.

If you want a long phone call, I get irritated if you call in the park or your house.

At that time, I will say:"Excuse me, I want to buy beef"

Then, the foreigner who is doing a long phone call moves

to the front of the chicken showcaseand will continue the talk.

The true meaning is "It is annoying if you are long talking here!"

We hope that many foreigners come to Japan and know "Real Japan".

We also hope to keep good manners Japanese people came from long ago.

Foreigners, please keep Japan's manner and enjoy your stay in Japan.

Of course, We understand that some Japanese have bad manners.

And I also understand that there are many foreigners

who know Japanese manners better than Japanese people.

<買い物編１＞

スーパーマーケットで買い物をしながら、長電話をしている外国人を見かけます。

夕方のスーパーマーケットは混雑します。

これは日本だけでなく、どこの国も同じだと思います。

みんな夕食の準備がありますから急いでいます。

例えば、牛肉のショーケースの前で長電話をするとどんなことが起きるでしょうか？

消費者は、牛肉を買いたくても、見られませんし、買えません。

もしあなたが長電話をしたいなら、公園か家でして下さい！とイライラしますね。

私はこう言います。「すみません、牛肉を買いたいんですが・・・」

すると、長電話をしている外国人は鶏肉のショーケースの前へ移動し、また話の続きをします。

本当の意味は「ここで長電話をしていると迷惑ですよ！」という意味です。

多くの外国人の皆さんに日本に来て「本当の日本」を知ってもらいたいと願っています。

同じように、昔から日本人が守ってきた良いマナーを守り続けられることも願っています。

外国人の皆さん、日本のマナーを守って、日本での滞在を楽しんでください。

もちろん、日本人の中にもマナーが悪い人がたくさんいることを理解しています。

そして、外国人の中には、日本人よりも日本のマナーを良く知っている方も多くいることも理解しています。
